theJEDMAN NATION-A New Wave Manifesto

Documenting the JED Experience

Sunday, December 12, 2004

I went to a classy party on Saturday night. It was in an exclusive neighborhood with flat houses, square shapes and car ports. I was let into the neighborhood even though I was wearing sneakers. The party was small. At any one time, there were only around 10 people there. There were couples. There were single guys. I don't think there were any single girls there, but the party was awesome anyway. There were people with good shoes there. There were people without shoes there. The party was held mostly in the kitchen. It was an awesome open kitchen with big counter tops for a party. Many people could hang there. The kitchen is always the best spot at any party. They had designer beer, good dip and chocolates. There were lots of things to see. There were tile floors and tile walls. There was a guy w/o shoes. There was art and collectibles. There were globes, swizzle sticks and a big spatula. There were quality people there. There were professionals and academics. The party had international people too. There was a guy w/o shoes. I chatted with a few people. Most of the people at the party were strangers to me. I didn't chat a lot as I was in awe the whole time there. I wanted to take in the moment and preserve it as a lasting image. I wanted this moment to connect to as many schema in my beautiful mind as it could.
This was like an exclusive L.A. party, but in the land of the Creek City. I didn't know that a world like this could exist in the middle of the Creek City. I hadn't had much faith in humanity lately. I could only stand to be by myself a tad bit more than I could stand being with people. This party was different. It was posh without being stuffy. It was elegant without being extravagant. It was a lovely without being an over the top gala. It was absent of yeahooness. Lately, I have had a tremendous disdain for anything yeahoo. There was nothing yeahoo here. There was a guy w/o shoes. It was a lovely evening. I enjoyed the party. I was fortunate to go. theJEDMAN
